NETWORKING AND
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

All DBAA events and activities are offered free of charge to the staff at member organizations and are designed to be inclusive and collegial – aimed at serving organizations that are diverse in size and mission.

ALL-MEMBER MEETINGS

DBAA All-Member Meetings take place twice a year and feature prominent guest speakers – elected and civic officials, local business representatives, industry leaders, and others – in addition to presentations by DBAA members, voting in new members, updates on DBAA business, and topical presentations.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SERIES

DBAA’s Professional Development Series offers panel discussions, workshops, roundtables, and seminars on important topics such as HR best practices, IT management, social media marketing, facilities management, EDI, advocacy, and other topics suggested by members (4-6 programs annually).

ROUNDTABLE ZOOMS

Conversational meetings designed to connect members working in specific areas take place virtually every month. Current monthly zooms include: All-Member Zoom, an “open-agenda” meeting focused on checking-in with peers and raising topics of general interest or of timely importance; Youth and Family Programs Roundtable for those working in or managing youth-focused programs to share information and expertise, and coordinate in areas of mutual interest; Human Resources Roundtable for all who have questions or topics to discuss regarding employment, staff well-being and organizational policies are invited to join; Marketing Roundtable covers all things marketing and PR.

MINGLES AND OPPORTUNISTIC CONVENINGS

DBAA organizes occasional “happy hour-style” mingles as well as other convenings (on zoom and in person) to take advantage of opportunities to host prominent guest speakers, cover timely topics, or reach new audiences.
